CapWIN Software Goes from Field Application to Case Study

The Capital Wireless Information Net (CapWIN) located within the Center for Advanced Transportation Technology (CATT) at the University of Maryland has gone from interoperable field usage to informative case study. American Digital Cartography inc. (ACDi) has published a NAVTEQ case study highlighting how CapWIN is providing the emergency response network with accurate, on-board map data which enables critical functionality and how they were able to assist in that.

The case study examined the challenges NAVTEQ was asked to solve in order to incorporate GIS and mapping functions into the CapWIN mobile software solution while meeting certain criteria. By CapWIN licensing NAVTEQ NAVSTREETS through ACDi it was able to ensure that the geospatial needs of the emergency responders were met.
