Department of Defense Inaugural Dress Rehearsal

All –

The Armed Forces Inaugural Committee (AFIC) will conduct rehearsals of the Presidential Swearing-in Ceremony, Presidential Escort, Inaugural Parade, Street Cordon, and the White House Reviewing Stand on Saturday, January 11, 2009 starting at 0300hrs.

Please view the memorandum (pdf) from Major General Rowe, which outlines personnel requirements and establishes reporting times in support of the January 11, 2009 DoD Dress Rehearsal. Several thousand personnel will be participating in this rehearsal.

CapWIN plans to create a “simple” Incident in the CapWIN System for this event. This will allow you and your Users to test and confirm connectivity, as well as test your communications messaging. This Incident will not be extensive, nor will it contain any real-world documents. Real-world documents will be posted during the actual Inaugural events.

For more information on CapWIN's Inaugural involvement, contact John Binks at 301.614.3721 or at jbinks@capwin.org.
